Here’s a list of things I’d like to see added to the program:

Sorting should be consistent between list view and page view.
“Notebooks” to separate different groups of lists
    Automatic backup to Dropbox.
Automatic syncing to Toodledo (on opening program?)
Sort by priority seems to be broken (guess that should be on a bug list)

    • Cliff says:

Thanks Tom, I’ll add them to the list. Oh, automatic syncing with Toodledo is already in there ;) .

It’s under ‘Sync Settings’, just turn ‘Auto Sync on Startup’ on and make sure your Toodledo credentials are already setup.

  2. Tom says:

Guess I should have looked at the Known-Bugs before posting that last one. Sorry!

  3. Douglas says:

I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this application! I have tried most of the list management apps in the app store, wasted many many dollars and basically stopped making todo lists because none of the apps worked well. I then decided to try one last time, and I’m so glad I did, manage is excellent! You should be proud! The only thing your application needs is “notebooks to store lists in” it would really help cut down clutter of many lists from many projects. I already voted for it, but I wanted to take a second and tell you how good of an application your working on is and voice my opinion!
    Thanks in advance.
    Doug

    • Cliff says:

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. :) Although I’m well aware of areas that could definitely use improvement… ie: the drawing updates that I’m currently working on ;) .

In your comment, I especially took note of reducing ‘list clutter’. In my mind, I had thought that lists would be enough to organise all tasks without there being a large amount of ‘clutter’. It’s great to have this kind of user feedback.

Very good chance that I’ll add this into the next update.

  4. Bruce says:

    I’d like to see:

A task list that displays items flagged from multiple lists to be done today, with the items indicating be source list.

The ability to manuallly set the order of items on a list–drag and drop.

I would prefer the check boxes be a comple box, and not have the little gap.

iPhone version is a Deal breaker.

    • Cliff says:

Filters, which is something I’m currently working on would allow you to create a custom filter listing all items to be done today… or any date range ;) . The calendar I’m currently working on should also assist with this.

Task orders can currently already be manually set, just make sure you are in ‘List’ sort, then tap the ‘Edit’ button to be able to drag and drop tasks.

I’ll pass on your comment about the checkboxes to our designer ;) .

As to an iPhone version, it’s a heavily requested feature from users so will eventually be going ahead.

  5. Bruce says:

I have various clients and need to keep projects across various clients moving forward at once. Some events have prescribed deadlines, most others have self-defined deadlines. The ability to group tasks according client is key, as is the ability to gather a list of items to work on now from across all the lists.

A badge for the number of tasks due Today only, not including past due tasks.

The ability to change the due date on a group of tasks as a batch.

Syncing with Toodledo is great. The downside is that it wrecks manually set order arrangements. If there was a way around that…

Thanks for a very solid application.

    • Cliff says:

Hmm… the custom filters I’m working on can definitely cover whatever setup you need in regards to working with items from multiple lists.

Badge for tasks only due today can definitely be put in. Ah, batch editing… I’ll add this to the list.

I wasn’t aware that toodledo syncing wrecks manual order arrangements. You might be referring to toodledo manual set order arrangements? Feel free to contact me directly and I’ll look into it further.

  6. Dave says:

One thing I look for in any iPad app that requires me to type a significant amount of data is integration with TextExpander. That and push notifications would probably be my top two requests. Even without these though, it is still a nice product.

    • Cliff says:

Thanks for the reminder. Integration with TextExpander is a bit of a no brainer, I’ll see how popular the idea is with other users ;) .

Push Notifications are already listed in the form of ‘Alarms’, which seems to have a bit of a following behind it. That’ll also need to be added to the todo soon.

  7. Linda says:

Great program! I’m reallly enjoying all the options. One thing I haven’t found yet after tooling around settings and on the site is a way to sync only certain lists with Toddledo. I have one master list for work items which I have syncing but when I make some additional personal lists in the program they sync over to Toodledo. They do go into a different Folder on Toodledo but I rather they just weren’t there at all.

    • Cliff says:

Aye, ‘Folders’ were the closest mapping I found for the concept of ‘Lists’, which Toodledo doesn’t have.

Interesting… conditional syncing on lists. I do like the idea. The caveat is that this would only be one way and any Toodledo folders with the same name would be synced from Toodledo down onto our ‘non-syncing’ list.

Still pretty cool, I’ll add it to the feature request list and see what other users think. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

  8. Kimo says:

Of all the task manager app on the iPad, I find Manager the easiest to use. I’m a big user of the sub task feature and a new feature I’d like added is a ‘next’ or ‘create more subtasks’ button on the Subtasks window.

Having this would make my tasking much quicker! :)

    • Cliff says:

Hmm.. not a bad idea. I think I know of a way I could throw this in for the next update. I’ll add it to the in-development section. Thanks for the request!

  9. b says:

I love Manage! I can’t believe no one else (that I’ve found) lets us stylus users write in our to dos!

Two things I’d like: sub-subtasks, and making it easier to write a subtask. Right now I seem to have to add an empty subtask and then “scribble”on it.

    • Cliff says:

I’ll have to be frank and say that sub-subtasks are a long way off, you’d be surprised how complex those things can be :S…

But! Making it easier to hand-write new subtasks is something that would be cool. Hmm… I think I have the answer :) . I just need to add in a second ‘add subtask’ option, as ‘add handwritten subtask’. I’ll add this to my list of todos.

Oh! Also check out the updated smooth drawing that we are working on – http://manage.kerofrog.com.au/244/smooth-drawing-and-title-update/

  10. Israel lopez says:

iPhone versión that sync with IPAD.

    • Cliff says:

This is already planned ;) . I’m actually going to hire someone else to do the iPhone version, so I can continue updating the iPad version of Manage. No planned dates yet though.

  11. Paul Kennedy says:

How about the ability to add attachments to tasks?
Visible Date/Time stamps for when items have been completed?
Sub-Tasks inheriting the tags for the parent task?
Collapsable parent tasks with a percentage completion?
Update to My Lists to show Percentage Completed, Total # of Tasks, etc.?

  12. Cliff says:

Interesting… thanks for those Paul. Most of these could definitely add value. I’m going to add them to my personal potential new features list and you could definitely see some of these popping up in future versions.

  13. b says:

One little UI thing – whenever I’m in a list, I keep trying to pinch it to go back to My Lists/Notebooks. It seems like this would be a natural way to interact with the program using the standard iOS gestures.

Also, once I’ve done a search across all lists, say to see everything with a certain tag, it would be nice to be able to populate a new list with the results of that search. Or just including the ability to copy tasks rather than only move them would let you go through the search and copy each item to the new list.

Even cooler would be “smart lists” that are assigned a particular tag or other search, include all tasks matching that, and sync with tasks’ original lists so that if you check it off in one, it gets checked off in the other. Or if a new task is added with a tag, it gets added to the smart list, etc. I don’t know how hard that would be to do, though.

Seconding collapsible parent tasks from above!

Thanks for all your hard work, every update is a major improvement on an already great app!

  14. Cliff says:

Niiice.. some very cool suggestions. I do like the pinch gesture idea, and collapsible parent tasks needs to be looked into.

Smart lists and populating new lists with the results of a search could be useful, although I don’t know what percentage of people would use this feature ;) . I’ll put these up and see what others think.

  15. Richard Manwaring says:

Great app. I use it daily. Looking forward to syncing with google.

Would really like to see an option to display task entries alphabetically. This would be very helpful in adding notes to tasks and managing tasks.

    • Cliff says:

Hmmm…. could definitely look at this. Although there isn’t any space left on the ‘sort options’ bar ;) … but perhaps I could squeeze it in somewhere else. I’ll add it to the list of feature requests.

      Thanks!

  16. ALlen says:

    A couple of feature requests:

    1) The ability to make an existing task a subtask of another task. For example, I have a list of tasks. In reorganizing the list, I realize some of these tasks should be a subtask of one of the existing tasks. I should be able to drag the task over another task and drop it on it. That task then becomes a subtask of the one I dropped it on. Of course, this will still need to respect the existing limitation that subtasks cannot have subtasks, so the hierarchy will still only be 1 level deep – ie. all subtasks exist one level below the main task.

    2) Ability to save a search filter – I have a number of searches I do. There should be a way to save the criteria so that I just select it from a dropdown (maybe available by tapping on the magnifying glass icon). So as not to make it cumbersome, limit it to maybe a maximum of 10 saved searches.

    3) Ability to save a tag filter – same as above, but instead for the tag filter located next to the hourglass icon. I usually have several searches based on tags. Instead of recreating them each time, have same feature as outlined in #2 above.

  17. Corky says:

Love this app! I use it in my job to keep me on track with key tasks and things that must get done. I work in a police department (detective division) and use this for things such as “Mattie’s Call”, “Levi Call”, and “Kimberley’s Call”. All of which are to send out alerts state and nationwide in the event of a missing/abducted child, missing adult, etc. Oftentimes my lists get long (real long) and I have subtasks for many individual tasks. I would love to see the option/ability to expand/collapse a task with subtasks. If there was an indicator that showed the task had subtasks – then i could expand that particular task. This would shorten the visible list.

I apologize ahead of time if this ability is available or in the works. I haven’t had the time to look through all your notes.

Thanks again for a great product and the tremendous response to other users requests for features.

  18. Cliff says:

Thanks for sharing that :) , I love hearing stories from users who get good use out of Manage.

I’ll add your suggestion to the list. Have a great day! :)

  19. Colin says:

Manage is really a amazing and helpful to-do-list App for may daily life.
The missing function what I really eager for is to alert user the to be accomplished task (compatible with “push” function in Ipad), and also with time setting function which allow me to arrange a task at certain time period of a day.

    Look forward to this function!
    sincerely support to the app.

    • Cliff says:

Thanks for that Colin. Some cool features that I already have on my todo list ;) .

Manage releases have slowed down as the app is starting to get too big for one person to handle… I’ve also got to be very careful not to overload the features in Manage, which I feel I’m starting to head toward :S… The good news is I am slowly bringing on more staff and the new features can be better planned and more quickly implemented as time progresses.

      Thanks for your feedback! :)

  20. Felipe says:

Great app. Congratulations. I would be glad with a calendar view, not only for the tasks. I really need to see my google calendar meetings and events.
I want to have contacts access inside the app too….

  21. Dianne Kroll says:

I would like to have a start date for subtasks. Right now, as I understand it, there is an automatic date entry to a task but a subtask I have to add manually, Your consideration is appreciated. I really like your app and have recommended it to others. Thanks for all your hard work.

  22. APLUS says:

Brilliant app for a ToDo freak like me.

Already voted for Dropbox backup and sort by Tags. One further request. The list page has a date under the List name. But when you print the list to PDF the date does not appear anywhere. Having the date of the list included when print page or send by email would save time and allow for easy identification of daily lists.

    Thanks for the great work.

  23. Layth says:

    Hi, :)

I would like to request the ability to tag lists, instead of keeping tagging confined to tasks. I think there’s place for both kinds of tagging and doesn’t have to be one or the other.

    Thank you!

  24. Sue says:

    Hi

I would like to be able to sync my to do lists with the in built calendar on my iPad so that when I look at my calendar i can see what is due that day and also what is cooming up, so that I can plan my days using both my to do list and what else I have on in my life (on my calendar)Perhaps the calendar can pop up at the side of the to do list? Otherwise I am enjoying your app and love that you really listen. keep up the good work

    • Cliff says:

      Thx Sue, I try :) .

Just wish I had a team of devs to action more of this sooner, really sucks that I can’t get things moving along faster :( .

Wish me luck with my efforts to get biz funding for a biz idea, which will help move me closer to getting that team :) .

Then I can go nuts with some really awesome benefits for everyone.

Until then, I’ve added the request to the list :)

  25. Ron says:

This is (by far) the best app I can’t use (@work : ) due to data encryption requirements. Any chance that if/when you add password protection the app itself could have 256 bit encryption?

Thanks Cliff – hope your biz venture meets with success and you get your dev team…

    • Cliff says:

Thx Ron :) . We have a COO now and are recruiting a CFO and a UX/UI head designer.

      Ok, 256 bit encryption.

Yeah sure, when I get to password protection ;) . Hmm… although it wasn’t on the list of todo’s, not sure how valuable this would be to the majority of people out there :/.

But I’ll put it on the list and we’ll see how many people votes for it :) .

      Thx Ron.
