Known Bugs

Aug 1, 2010 57

This is the list of currently known bugs as of the latest version (1.5.3).

If you think you may have found a bug, then please report it here! :)  I’m passionate about making Manage a bug-free zone.

Of course, you can also just contact me at manage@kerofrog.com.au to report a bug.

A status of Open means that I haven’t fixed the bug yet.  A status of Closed means I have fixed the bug in the current beta version of Manage.

DescriptionReason / ReplicateResolutionStatus
B1Scribble pad being cut off when selecting 'New Scribble Task' button. This occurs when a large list is scrolled down and the 'new scribble task' button is tapped. Resulting in the Scribble Pad being cut off by the top of the screen. The tableview now moves to the correct position before opening up the ScribblePad.Closed
B2Any archived tasks are not being sent up to toodledo when doing a full replace to Toodledo sync.Send them up to toodledo :).Closed
B3Lists sometimes not correctly updating after syncing with Toodledo.Due to multi-threading, the database is sometimes locked. Meaning that an update is blocked.Set up shared cache on the sqlite database.Closed
B4Priority sorting is not behaving correctly.Sort by priority to reproduce.Need to make sure the sorting goes in order of - critical (red), important (yellow), normal tasks then completed tasksClosed
B5Certain completed tasks in archives are being synced back to toodledo as uncompleted tasksReason: Completed timestamp isn't being correctly grabbed from toodledo.

Replicate: Do a full local replace sync from toodledo, then archive toodledo completed tasks. Then do a normal sync.
Correctly grabbed the timestamp and now syncing correctly.Closed
B6Very rarely Manage will repeatedly shutdown as soon as it starts up.I have worked out why this is happening and have corrected it in the next update for Manage.

However, if this is happening to you, then please still contact me directly so I can look at the crash reports.
Contact me directly at cliff@kerofrog.com.au and I can correct this issue for you.Closed
B7Titles for lists in the default sliding view will sometimes not display correctly for the selected list. Thank you to William for reporting this. This can be replicated by: 1. Switch from sliding view to tile view 2. Add a new list 3. Switch back to sliding view. This is just a display issue, and can be resolved by force quitting Manage on your iPad. I'll be fixing this issue in the next update of Manage.Closed
B8Completing repeating tasks in the pocket reminder is not correctly creating the new repeating task. Also, completing repeating tasks in the 'List View' is not updating the pocket reminder.I've now fixed this in the next beta version of Manage :).Closed

Frequently Asked Questions

Aug 1, 2010 4

Welcome to the FAQ page.  It’s pretty bare at the moment, but I’ll be adding to it as soon as I can :) .

Please visit our Support Articles section first to see if your question can be answered there.

Otherwise you can post a question below (or contact us directly at manage@kerofrog.com.au) and I’ll add it to the FAQ.

How do repeating tasks work?
When a task repeats, the due date will be moved forward by the selected amount of time.

The options that can be selected are:

None: Do not repeat this task
Daily: The task will repeat every day
Weekly: The task will repeat on the same day of each week
Every 2 weeks: The task will be repeated on every second week
Every (?) Days/Weeks/Months: Select a custom frequency using days, weeks or months
On days of the week: Select which days of the week the task will be repeated on

A task will repeat itself when it is completed. A new duplicate task is created with a new due date. The new due date on the duplicate task will be set based on either the date the original task was completed or the due date of the original task.

Note: A task that does not have a due date will be repeated based on the completed date.

Examples:
a) A task with a due date of the 3rd of September is set to repeat every five days using the due-date. The task is completed on the 1st of September. A new duplicate task is then created with a due date of the 8th of September.

b) A task with a due date of the 12th of August is set to repeat every three days using the completed date. The task is completed on the 14th of August. A new duplicate task is then created with a due date of the 17th of August.

c) A task with no due date is set to repeat every two days using the due date. The task is completed on the 19th of November. As there is no due date on the original task, the new duplicate task is created with a due date of the 21st of November.
How to send crash reports to us?
1. Connect your iPad to your computer and open iTunes
2. Right-click (Windows) or control-click (Mac) on your iPad under devices
3. Click ‘Reset Warnings’
4. Sync your iPad

When iTunes prompts you to send diagnostic and usage information to Apple, select No (disagree)

The crash reports are now saved on your computer, the directory they are in depends on the platform, the directory is:
Mac OS X: ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\
Windows Vista or 7: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\

Attach the Manage crash reports (prefixed by the word ‘Manage’) to an email and send them to us at manage@kerofrog.com.au
How to use Backup and Restore?
Images help with this explanation :).

Please visit the Backup & Restore help article for a complete guide.

Sub tasks not being indented beneath the parent task?
This is caused by the type of 'sort' currently selected. Switching back to 'List' sort will cause sub tasks to once again be indented under their parent task.

I chose this route as I wanted high priority items to always appear at the top of the ‘priority’ sorting list, rather than being stuck tabbed behind a non-priority parent task.

Am currently looking at a possible 'middle ground' solution to this.. will update in future. :)
What is a tag?
A tag is a keyword or phrase that helps describe a task. You can use this tag for separating tasks into types like 'Work' and 'Home' or you could use tags to keep track of the current status of your tasks.

A task can have as many or little tags as you like.

Tags can be edited from the settings menu on the top right hand side of the Navigation Bar.
Will there be an iPhone version of Manage?
Yes, there will be.

It's a bit of a balancing act though, I have to reach a certain point in the iPad version that I'm completely happy with before commencing work on the iPhone version. It's worth checking out the 'In Development' and 'Planned Updates' section on the website to see what's coming, and of course to follow us as I will definitely be announcing it when I start work on the iPhone version :).
